Proud and thankful:
the day Daniela d’Jandilla’s son – Good Morning di Casa Vernice – entered my life.

Nearly ten years ago a young and astonishing fawn female came into my life: Daniela d’Jandilla. I was asked by her owner to train her up to IPO1 and to handle her at some major shows.
From the very first moment I looked into her big black – almost shy – eyes, I knew she would turn my life upside down.
The months we spent together training en showing were a roller-coaster of emotions: she got her IPO1 and went on winning the Italian Campionato (2001), the World champion and the Atibox title (2002). It was a privilege to present her in the ring: she knew how to catch the eyes of the public and she flourished in that cloud of admiration.

But none of these special moments – however much we both enjoyed them – could compare to the hours we spent on the field at home or simply walking in the wood or along the seashore. I still remember almost every special thing about her. The way she moved, the way she looked, the way she suddenly hesitated, the way she asked… She was pure elegance and beauty. And she was a first class seductress!

Daniela was one of these very very few Boxers that radiated just that little bit different and who was willing to share that glimpse of excellence. Shared moments that I will treasure all my life.

The moment she changed owner I felt her slipping out of my hands. Not being the owner and not being in a position to speak out freely left me behind with mixed feelings. Only many years later I was able to see for real that Daniela had a good and wonderful life, something that I do thank, from the bottom of my heart, Anja and David for.

To own a puppy by Daniela was a dream. It also was a promise made to me.
Unfortunately for me, by moving to another home this promise slipped into the background. A situation I don’t blame anyone for. After all, by now she had gained the status a megastar and as with all megastars other interests came into play. Still, it felt hard to accept and I couldn’t let go the idea of bringing a glance of Daniela’s excellence into our breeding.

Almost by chance, eight years after our paths parted, I now have the privilege to live together with one of Daniela’s many stunning children: Good Morning di Casa Vernice, a superb brindle male by Oliver v. Bispus.
The people who lived together wit Daniela for a longer period of time will agree with me that many of these little things – typical for Daniela – did pass on to him.
The way he moves, when walking freely in front of you: carefully, from left to right and back, never leaving you out of sight.
The alternating flash in his eyes: shy, demanding, questioning at one moment - burning, determinate at the next.
Flashbacks of moments with Daniela keep sparkling and twinkling, while walking and playing or just looking at that powerful, balanced son of her. Sometimes the memories are overwhelming.

I am proud and honoured that Gabriele and Valentina gave me the chance to bring Good Morning Di Casa Vernice into our home.

A heartfelt “Thank you” to his Breeder – “ Di Casa Vernice “- for having bred this gorgeous male and for having made Daniela’s life such a good and fruitful one.

Now my story with this magnificent girl has come to a full circle.
It feels strange, at moments uncanny, that only a few weeks after Daniela passed away, having lived a wonderful life, a situation presented itself resulting in the entering of a son of her into my life.
And what a son!
A new circle in the helix, a new future lies ahead.
What can I say Daniela? You know it, I will never forget and I will always be grateful for what we shared: Thank You.
